5 factors Why to choose destination marriage

posted by Mangalam wedding planner & events

1.choosing the right location

Choosing a perfect location is an important task while choosing an destination marriage. The location of your wedding not only determine the mood, but also the travel, time and your budget. You want your guest to come through all the way comfort and make them to speak about your wedding “Oh that  was so awesome”.your wedding elements, lighting, flower decors, location and  the overall  ambience  should say something about your personal style and feel. Then  why not to choose destinations like Goa Beach, back waters of kerela , Andaman & nicobar island etc...

2.Hold your wedding  in right time

When choosing destination marriage it is important to think about the budget, because during seasonal in popular destination you may have more crowd, fewer hotels and venue availability. Therefore you can reserve / block hotels and venues 6-12months in advance.so that your guest can book flights and accommodation before price go high.so you can save some money of your guest and your’s ultimately.

3.Have a visit

It is optional, It is enough recommended to have a trip of your venue at least once before your wedding day. It’s good if you’re visiting the venue twice. On first visit you can inspect the venue, ceremony, reception spaces, hotels for guest, caterers, decors, photographer and local suppliers vendors. On the second visit you can have “tasting” with the caterers,  sample florist design, local hair style makeups , and tourist activities for your guest etc..

4.Factor in extra expenses

If everything done right, a destination wedding can cost no more-even it is less expensive when you are doing the same party in metropolitan city.

Say for example if you are doing in city where event facilities are high in demand there may be high price for hiring vendors but in case of destination wedding you may have less expense.Still there are extra expenses you'll need to factor in for any destination wedding, including importing key vendors and décor, welcome bags for guests, additional activities for guests and travel costs for you and your immediate families.

5. Role of wedding planner

If you're hosting a wedding in a distant locality, you will need to entrust at least part of the planning to someone else's capable hands. A wedding planner can shoulder the burden of researching and handling local vendors dealing with logistics like tent rentals and lighting and handling any last-minute fire. The wedding planner will be in  behind-the-scenes , creating gift bags for guests, greeting everyone at the airport, keeping people busy with fun activities , vetting special requests (babysitters, dry cleaners, and so on), and getting everyone where they need to be on-time. Many resorts include a coordinator in their wedding packages. Always prefer to go with a wedding planner from back home, make sure they have experience planning weddings in your chosen destination and expect to cover his transportation costs for planning visits and the actual wedding.
